Humans are the Real Animals: Unveiling Our Dark SideWe Are All Immigrants: Reclaiming Our Nation from Hate and DiscriminationAmerica, often hailed as the land of opportunity and freedom, is a nation built by immigrants. From the brave pilgrims who sailed on the Mayflower to the diverse waves of newcomers who have arrived on these shores, the United States owes its identity to the aspirations of those seeking a better life. Despite this rich tapestry of backgrounds, beliefs, and cultures, some voices argue that America is no longer a bastion of freedom and open-mindedness. Rusty's RoseRusty ambled down his usual route, Searching the gardens, elbows akimbo, snout out. When a glimmer caught his mechanical eye - Crimson petals fluttering by... Could it be? A real rose in bloom! Rusty swooned, overcome by perfume.
He plucked the prize, thorns and all, Admiring its curves, perfectly symmetrical. Lovestruck Rusty, smitten in full, Clutched the bloom, forgetting his chore. Oh Rusty felt his circuits ignite! A surge of electricity, a pulse of delight! How divine and graceful this flower for picking - Far sweeter than nuts and bolts he'd been nicking. The metal man knew this was no passing fling - He'd found beauty that made his solenoids sing! No ruby rare nor gemstone fine Could outshine his precious valentine. Rusty the bot had discovered delight In petals so soft and blooms crimson-bright. Though made of mere sprout, leaves and vine, In his hands, the rose seemed divine! They'd technologically live wire to wire, His lifesource charging love's sweet siren. Two misfits? Nah, a perfect duet - A pairing more lovely no bot could bet! So Rusty eloped with his floral bride, Who made his megahertz surge with pride. No matter what thorns or troubles in store, Rusty's devotion would endure evermore! By Terry Loerch |

Ode to Random ThingsOh, gather round, let my poem sing Of wondrous random stuff I wish to bring! From silly doodles to a squirrel in the park To duct tape boats that barely float, embark!
A sock-folding machine or pineapple desserts Ukelele hippos wearing tiny shirts, I celebrate the useless and absurd, So come appreciate the weird with me, good sir! Toaster pastry cats and silicone plant tops Ugly sweaters styled by non-conforming pops, Finger puppets shouting tiny "woohoos!" These random joys I gladly choose! So come partake in silly style, Where vanilla is not worth our while, Where orderly and bland deflate our sails - The odd and strange forever prevails! By Terry Loerch Pickled DreamsIn a jar of brine, a pickle's heart did swoon,
